Hey, I’m Laura, the Founder of Rock + Realm, a brand built on the belief that nature nurtures and through connection, we grow together. As a UK-based spiritual lifestyle brand, we’re committed to responsibly sourced crystals, spiritual wellness tools and, most importantly, protecting the planet.
For me, nature has always been a guiding force, grounding me, inspiring me and teaching me to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us. As we take steps to give back to the earth this Earth Month, I’m more passionate than ever about using my platform to help protect what I cherish most.
We’re in the midst of a climate emergency. At 1.5°C of global warming, we’re already experiencing the devastating effects—record-breaking heat waves, historic wildfires, prolonged droughts and intensifying storms. It’s no longer a distant threat; climate change is happening now. Communities worldwide are facing the consequences, from disrupted food systems to infrastructure damage and supply chain instability. But there’s hope.
Why We Need Urgent Action
Rock + Realm has always been about more than crystals and wellness; it’s about nurturing growth in ourselves and in the world around us. That’s why our commitment to reducing plastic waste and restoring nature is so close to my heart. It's all about making real, lasting change...together.
In the face of this crisis, what does meaningful climate action look like? For me, it’s not just about minimising harm, it’s about actively restoring balance. It’s about growth; in our ecosystems, in our communities and in ourselves. Together, we can reconnect with nature and nurture the future we all deserve.
Restoring ecosystems is one of the most powerful solutions we have. Trees don’t just absorb carbon; healthy ecosystems provide biodiversity, clean air and water, fertile soils and resilience against extreme weather. If we want a liveable future, we must restore the natural balance, while supporting the health, culture and equality of our global communities.
Climate change and nature loss are deeply intertwined. Rising temperatures are reshaping ecosystems, while shifting rainfall patterns, extreme weather events and ocean acidification are threatening our species. The good news? Restoring nature is one of the most effective climate solutions. By reforesting and revitalising natural habitats, we can help sequester greenhouse gases, buffer against extreme weather and provide essential habitats for wildlife, all while supporting local communities.
Reflecting on 2024: Our Progress
As we look back on 2024, I’m filled with gratitude for how far we’ve come together. Thanks to you, our incredible community, Rock + Realm has planted 1,750 trees through our partnership with GoodAPI, Eden Reforestation and Veritree, directly contributing to ecosystem restoration, biodiversity and cleaner air and water. Together, we’re not just planting trees; we’re fostering a future where people and nature thrive side by side. 🌱
This is a small but meaningful part of our journey to restore the planet. These trees are making a real difference in local communities, providing habitats for wildlife and supporting resilience against the ongoing effects of climate change. I’m so grateful for the incredible support from all of you that has made this possible.
One of the most impactful projects we’re supporting is the restoration of mangrove forests in Kenya. Through this project, we are empowering impoverished coastal communities by helping restore the mangrove estuary, a vital biodiversity hotspot. These forests not only provide sustainable fishing grounds, but they also help stabilise coastlines, protecting both land and local communities during tropical storms. By supporting this project, we’re creating additional income streams and breaking the poverty cycle for those who need it most.
We also continued to evolve our business practices to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From eco-friendly packaging to sustainably harvested Palo Santo and olive wood to mindfully sourced crystals, we’re making intentional choices to reduce our environmental footprint. But we’re not stopping there, this year we’re introducing even more ways to take meaningful action.
Exciting New Developments for 2025: A Year of Action
As we step into 2025, I’m excited to share the bold new initiatives we’re launching to build on our shared growth and impact. Together, we’ve already planted 1,750 trees, but we’re not stopping there. This year, we’re taking even bolder steps to reduce waste, restore nature and make an even bigger impact. Here’s a view of what’s launching in April on Earth Day 2025:
1. Ocean Bound Plastic Removal: Every Order Makes a Difference
Plastic pollution in our oceans is one of the most urgent environmental issues we face. This year, we're launching our Ocean Bound Plastic Removal initiative, where each order you place helps remove 5 plastic bottles from waterways within 50km of an ocean or coastline.
By stopping plastic from entering the ocean, we are directly protecting marine life, microorganisms and endangered species from plastic pollution. Ocean-bound plastic is not only a threat to wildlife but also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions throughout its life cycle; from extraction and transport to manufacturing and disposal. We’re proud to be part of the solution. The collected plastic is transformed into plastic feedstock, contributing to a circular economy and reducing the need for virgin plastic materials.
2. One Tree Planted for Every Email Subscription
We know that every action counts, and we want to give back in a way that’s simple and impactful. For every new email subscription we receive, we’ll plant one tree. Your choice to join our community not only helps you stay connected with us, but it also directly supports our tree planting efforts with GoodAPI and Veritree. Together, we can plant even more trees and restore ecosystems, one email subscription at a time.

3. Continuing Our Ongoing Commitment to supporting Nature
Our partnership with GoodAPI and Veritree continues to be a central part of our mission to restore the planet. We’ll keep planting trees, improving biodiversity and supporting local communities in the regions where our trees are being planted. All of this is tracked and transparent, so you can follow our progress and see the positive impact we’re making through our Ethos page or your customer account impact hub.
We’re also continuing our work on sustainable sourcing, eco-friendly packaging and plastic waste reduction. You may have noticed we've introduced hive wrap paper in 2024, to protect your precious treasures without the need for plastic bubblewrap - we still reuse bubblewrap from the few suppliers that use it, but we're thrilled that this number is reducing too. Every small change we make together helps to create a healthier planet for future generations.
