The Spring Equinox is a beautiful invitation to reset. As the days grow lighter and nature begins to stir, it’s the perfect time to refresh your home, clear stagnant energy and welcome in a new season with intention.
After the heaviness of winter, many of us feel ready for a shift. Our homes can begin to feel a little tired, cluttered or lacking in energy, and because our environment has such a powerful influence on our mood, even small changes can make a real difference.
You don’t need a full renovation or a weekend of endless cleaning to feel the benefits. Often, the most meaningful shifts come from the simplest rituals. Opening the windows, clearing a corner, refreshing your plants or cleansing your space can help your home feel lighter, calmer and more supportive of the season ahead.
How to Energetically Spring Clean Your Home
If you’re ready to create a space that feels fresh, grounded and full of possibility, these five simple steps will help you energetically spring clean your home and step into spring with more clarity, calm and ease.
Spring Energy Clearing Guide
2. Refresh your plants and natural touches
3. Let in more light and fresh air

1. Clear the physical space
There’s no getting away from it... a spring reset usually starts with an actual clear out.
One of the quickest ways to shift the energy in your home is to tackle the physical clutter that has built up over winter. When surfaces are overflowing and cupboards are crammed with things you no longer use, your space can begin to feel heavy and stagnant. Clearing what no longer serves you creates room for fresh energy to enter.
Rather than approaching it as one enormous task, try working room by room or choosing one focused area at a time. Open the windows, put on your favourite uplifting playlist and let it feel like a gentle seasonal reset rather than a chore.
Be honest about what you truly need, use and love. If something no longer has a place in your home or your life, this may be the moment to let it go.
Clothes, books and homeware can often be donated to local charity shops, while apps like Olio can help you pass useful items on within your local community.
2. Refresh your plants and natural touches
Houseplants often need a little extra care at the start of spring. After months of lower light and central heating, they can start to look a little weary, much like we do.
Trim away any tired leaves, wipe dust from the foliage, water them well and rotate or reposition them to make the most of the returning sunlight. If roots are peeking out or growth has slowed, spring is also a lovely time to repot them and give them a fresh start.
If you look after your leafy babies, they’ll look after you too. Indoor plants help soften a space, reconnect us with nature and create a calmer, more grounded atmosphere at home.

Boston Ferns, Ficus, Spider Plants, Rubber Plants and Snake Plants are all beautiful options if you’d like to bring more greenery into your home while naturally supporting a fresher-feeling environment.
You could also style them alongside simple pieces of natural home décor to create a softer, more grounded feel.
3. Let in more light and fresh air
One of the simplest ways to energetically refresh your home is to invite in more natural light and airflow.
Open the windows whenever you can to get the air moving and shift any heaviness that has built up indoors. Even a few minutes a day can make a surprising difference to how a room feels. If you’re in the mood, cleaning the windows can also help maximise the natural light pouring in.
At this point in the year, many people are still feeling the effects of winter, especially when it comes to energy and mood. More exposure to natural daylight can help your home feel brighter and more uplifting, while gently supporting your own sense of wellbeing as the season changes.
If you can, pair this step with getting outside a little more too. A brighter home and a little more daylight in your day is a powerful combination.
4. Cleanse the energy of your space
Once the physical space feels clearer, you can move on to the energetic layer.

When a room feels gloomy, tense or a little flat, I love using a smoke or sound cleanse to shift the atmosphere. It’s a simple ritual, but it can completely change how a space feels.
I personally love the warm, grounding aroma of Palo Santo, although sage and incense can work beautifully too. It often comes down to what feels good to you and what suits your home.
You might choose incense, Palo Santo spray or aromatherapy oils to refresh your space.
Move gently from room to room, wafting smoke around the edges of the space, the corners, doorways and windows. As you do, hold a clear intention in mind. You might like to say something simple out loud such as, “I release stagnant energy and welcome calm, clarity and positivity into this home.”
If using smoke isn’t practical, a singing bowl, chime bells, music or even your own voice can be just as effective. And if this kind of ritual feels a little new to you, don’t worry. Even lighting a few candles with intention can help create a beautiful energetic shift.
5. Cleanse and recharge your crystals
Spring is also the perfect time to reset the energy of your crystal collection.
You may already have a regular crystal cleansing practice, or you might be more intuitive with it. Either way, a seasonal refresh can help your stones feel aligned and ready to support you again.

If a crystal is water safe, running water can be a lovely cleansing method. As the water flows over the crystal, imagine it washing away any stagnant or unwanted energy. Just be sure to check your crystal first.
A good rule of thumb is that if the name ends in “ite”, it’s best to keep it away from water.
Selenite is ideal for keeping smaller crystal collections clear and charged, but for larger groups of crystals, smoke and sound cleansing are often the easiest and most practical option.
One of the lovely things about these methods is that you can cleanse your home and your crystals at the same time, creating a more complete seasonal reset.
A simple spring ritual to finish
Open your windows, add fresh flowers or place a favourite crystal somewhere visible as a reminder of the energy you want to invite into this new season.
Spring is a season of renewal, growth and possibility. Even the smallest mindful changes can help your home feel more supportive, more peaceful and more in tune with the season ahead.
Are you feeling fresh as a spring daisy?
If you’ve followed even one or two of these steps, you’ve already begun to shift the energy around you.
Creating a calmer, clearer home doesn’t have to be complicated. A few simple seasonal rituals can help you feel more grounded, uplifted and connected to your space, yourself and the rhythm of nature.
Sometimes all it takes is a little light, a little air and a conscious pause to make home feel good again.
