October’s recognised birthstones are Opal and Tourmaline, two gemstones known for their extraordinary displays of colour. Opal can reveal flashes from across the rainbow, while Tourmaline occurs naturally in a remarkable spectrum of shades.
Labradorite offers an additional affordable October birthstone alternative for anyone drawn to Opal’s shifting light. Its grey surface can reveal flashes of blue, green, gold and purple as the stone moves. Traditionally associated with protection, intuition and navigating change, Labradorite makes a thoughtful gift for somebody with hidden depths or anyone beginning a period of transformation.
